Teenage drivers need insurance too

Filed under: Gift Ideas, Teenagers, insurance — admin @ 9:08 pm

As a mom of a teenager about to get her learner’s permit, car insurance is on the top of my list of things to review.テつ My current car insurance is for my husband and I with good driving records.テつ I am sure that when we go to add her to the insurance, we will want to check out other companies to make sure that we get a good rate.テつ I am not really looking forward to paying more for car insurance or trying to find the best deal.テつ CarInsurance.com offers free auto insurance quotes.

There is a lot more to think about now that my daughter will be driving.テつ GEICO has just added “Teens and Trucks” to its online library of safe driving materials for teen drivers. Developed with the American Moving and Storage Association, this brochure includes valuable information for teens on how to safely share the highway with large trucks. The GEICO teen safe driving Web site is located at http://www.geico.com/auto/safety.テつ Some of the very valuable tips for safe highway driving around large trucks found in thisテつ online brochureテつ include:

  • Stay out of a truck’s blind spots
  • “No Zones”
  • Be careful when attempting to pass a truck
  • Do not swerve in front of a truck or cause the driver to come to asudden stop.
  • Avoid “Squeeze Play” when a large truck needs to make a wide turn
  • Do not cut off a large truck or passenger bus

This information and more is found at GEICO’s teen safe driving library and is very helpful to parents and teens who are just starting to drive.テつ It is available free of charge.

If you are looking to insure your soon to be driving teen (like I am), or even yourselfテつ visit CarInsurance.com.テつ テつ Youテつ can receive quotes from many insurance companies (anytime of day or night).テつ In some states, youテつ can purchase your insurance instantly.
