I’m Finally Going To See The Police ~ I Hope!

Filed under: Gift Ideas, music, PayPerPost — admin @ 7:12 pm

I was either 15 or 16 and in high school (this was the 80’s).テつ My mom was going to let me go to see The Police in concert.テつ Back then, concerts only came to the city that was one and a half ours drive away from us.テつ It was a big deal to get to go to one.テつ A parent usually had to be involved.テつ My sister, who was 14 years older than me (and was married with two kids) loved The Police (Sting in particular) was going to take my boyfriend and I to the show.テつ On the day of the show, I was so sick with a sore throat and some kind of cold.テつ My mom would not let me go to the show (no matter how much I screamed and begged).テつ My sister ended up taking my neice and nephew to see The Police.テつ They were around 8 and maybe 5 years old.テつ I vowed that I would never miss another concert just because I was sick (the drama of a 16 year old).テつ This was the Synchronicity tour…you know that one…the last one they have ever…until now.

I remember being in Junior High and buying Zenyatta Mondatta.テつ It was one of the first albums that I ever bought.テつ I listed to that thing over and over again.テつ My sister had bought the earlier albums, so I would borrow them from her.テつ I still have that album in a box in the closet, along with Ghosts in the Machine and Synchronicity.テつ The Police, after all these years, are still one of my favorite bands.テつ

When I heard that The Police were touring again, I was so excited.テつ Hereテつ is my chance to check them off of my “To SEE” list!テつ I have seen Sting a few times in concert, but getting to see The Police will take me back to all of thse years ago, when I was supposed to see them.テつ Yeah, I know that sounds corny.テつ If you want to really hear something corny, here goes:

I remember being in an English class in high school reciting “Tea in The Sahara” as a poem for a class assignment!テつ Now that is corny, but I think I got an “A”.

I just found out that they are releasing a new double police cdテつ テつ with 28 songs and “Tea in the Sahara” is one of the songs included.テつ They have all of the best Police songs on the cds.

What’s for dinner? Find the perfect recipe.

Filed under: Gift Ideas, kitchen and cooking, food, internet, PayPerPost — admin @ 5:00 pm

Since I am a stay at home mom, I try to cook at home frequently to keep expenses down.テつ I am not a horrible cook, but I am a “keep it simple stupid” cook.テつ I run out of ideas on what to cook.テつ From time to time, I like to find new recipes to try.テつ I used to look through recipe books.テつ I remember years ago, I would even check stacks of recipe books out of the library.テつ Now, I don’t have to try to flip through all of those big books trying to find ideas for dinner.テつ I can go online and find recipes.テつ I like recipe sites that you can have an account to save your recipes that you like and want to go back and easily find.テつ I like to read reviews from people who have made the recipes.テつ It helps when they give their tips and what they thought needed tweaking in the recipe or directions.テつ CookingSpot.com is a new recipe site that has all of this plus a way to create easy-to-use shopping lists and a forum to ask your cooking questions.テつ If you have a great recipe that you want to share, you can submit it to CookingSpot.com!

Stripes, Polka Dots, and Fish…Oh My!

Finding just the right look for your baby’s nursery can drive you a little bit nutty.テつ What color, what style, what character, what…

WithCharacter.com has lots of really cute baby products and bedding, but they have this really adorableテつ crib set with little fishies on it.テつ Green and blue fish shapes, stripes, polka dots, and argyles make this crib bedding set fun and stylish. The MiGi Splash Crib Bedding includes a crib skirt that has a wavy bottom and circles thatテつ lookテつ almost like fish bubblesテつ to really add a aquatic feel to the crib.テつ The set also includes aテつ 200 thread count comforter, fitted sheet, bumper, diaper stacker, and a window valance.テつ WithCharacter.com even offers toテつ personalize the comforter with your childテ「竄ャ邃「s name forテつ only $6 more (which really makes it special).テつ

WithCharacter.comテつ displays the crib set in a white crib.テつ I think that the set really looks nice with this color.テつ In addition to the set, you can add to the whole nursery look with this really cool coordinatingテつ lamp.テつ It has a small, white base with a striped lampshade.テつ The colors of the stripes are the same as the crib bedding set.テつ The lamp is cute, but not nearly as cute as the musical mobile that has the same fish shapes.テつ

I can image many of you adding this fun crib set to the top of your “likes” list!

Spring Clean Your Lint

Filed under: Home, pet care, tools and handy gadgets, PayPerPost, as seen on tv — admin @ 8:59 am

If you are like me, you don’t always do a great job at sorting the laundry. It never fails, my favorite black t shirt somehow ends up in the towels.テつ There is nothing like the joy of finding towel lint on a black shirt!テつ When I see a commercial on tv about the latestテつ Lint Removers, it reminds me that I should probably get at least one! Because I am also bad at putting things back where they belong, I probably should get aテつ bunch ofテつ lint removers and place them throughout the house.テつ And speaking of lint, don’t forget to clean out the lint trap in your dryer.テつ The lint screen doesn’t always catch all of the lint, and when you pull that darn thing out, stuff goes flying everywhere ~ i.e. the clean clothes that is on top of the dryer!テつ They have those cool lint trap cleaning brushes that you can clean out the excess lint.テつ They kind of look like a big pipe cleaner, and they catch all of those little pieces of lint that stay inside the lint trap area.テつ If there is too much lint caught up in there, it will make your dryer take longer to dry your clothes.テつ Thisテつ will make your house warm and cause your air conditioner to have to work harder.
