Summer Movie Rentals

When summer comes around, I always tend to rent more movies for the kids. The girls are allowed to stay up a little bit later. It gets so hot here in the summer, that the girls like to come inside for part of the day. The summer is usually when we get to watch movies that we wanted to see, but didn’t go to see in the movie theaters. I have already started to set up my movie list on Netflix.com. All I do is log into my account, and find movies I want tohave sent to me, and add them to my queue (waiting to be sent to you list). This way, I don’t have to worry about going to the video store, and hoping that the movie we want to see is even available. Netflix.com is so good about having older movies and just a really nice selection of movies to rent.テつ I have found lots of movies that I can’t find locally. テつ I have the 3 at a time deal unlimited deal, so that I can get something for me and something for them to watch. With Netflix.com, I just stick the movies into the mailbox when I am finished with them. I just a few days, I have new movies! As a mom who forgets to return movies and end up having to pay late fees often, Netflix saves me money.テつ I can return the movies when I am ready toテつ ~ and i don’t have to leave the house to do it.テつ This is really good now with the gas prices costing an arm and a leg.テつ I love having Netflix!

Microsteam your veggies

Filed under: Gift Ideas, Product Reviews, kitchen and cooking, Mother's Day — admin @ 4:41 pm

My husband has a small garden. Last year, we ate so many green beans, suash and zucchini! I am really looking forward to fresh steamed veggies again this summer. He has already picked lots of yummy green beans (and shared them with some family and a neighbor)! We love steamed green beens with a little bit of crunch left in them and some real butter and Tony’s. I have this really cool Microsteamer that I steam fresh vegetables in. I love it! I just add a little bit of water in the bottom of it, put my veggies into it, cover them with the lid, and pop it into the microwave. I use this thing all of the time. I do use it with frozen veggies too.テつ I should probably get a little more daring and try it for other foods.テつ Maybe I will this summer!

My Favorite Valentine’s Day Song

Every year, when I start to see Valentine’s Day stuff, I get a song in my head. It is one of my favorite songs on one of my favorite CDs, from one of my favorite singers. The song is Valentine by John Waite (yes, this is the guy who sang “Missing You”). I have loved this song for many years ( I got the CD around 8 years ago). My husband and I went to see him around a year ago. It was my second time. He was doing an accoustic show and we were sitting in the front row. He asked if there was anything we wanted to hear ( the audience) and I yelled out “Valentine”. He gladly sang it to us! He is one of the best and underrated singer/songwriters. I have listed to his music since I was a young teen ( or was it ‘tween?). That was MANY years ago!

This is one of his best albums. I have the CD somewhere, but most of the time, I just find it on Rhapsody ( where I have Access to one of the biggest music libraries on the net) and listen to it there. I highly recommend this album. It is an all time favorite of mine!
