Love Lavender?

Lavender LoveTM has picked one of the most versatile essential oils and has created a full product line featuring handmade soaps, body scrubs, candles, lip care,テつ and even carpet powderテつ (just to name a few items).

Not only does the company offer a wonderfully diverse line products made with pureテつ lavender essential oils, but the website includes very informative information aboutテつ the benefits of thisテつ essential oil.テつ テつ テつ Although I already knew that Lavender essential oils had healing properties, and is goodテつ for burns, and sore muscles, I did not realize that there is such a thing as culinary lavender that can be used in foods (unlike other lavender which cannot be ingested).テつ

After receiving my Lavender LoveTM ) soap, souffle, and body sugar from Heidi Philips (a rep for Lavender LoveTM), I was very excited to try it out.テつ The scent was real lavender, unlike many over the counter products that don’t smell like the real essential oil.テつ Just by the fragrance, I knew it was the real stuff, and not a synthetic scent.テつ Heidi told me that it would be mixed fresh when it is ordered, I thought that that was pretty neat.テつ I figured it would take awhile for it to come in, but it got here rather quickly.

The Lavender Soap ~ Light purple colored, handmade vegetableテつ glycerin soap blended with pure lavender essential oil.テつ テつ The soap doesn’t produce lots of bubbles,テつ I would assume it isテつ because it doesn’t have detergents in it (whichテつ canテつ irritateテつ your skin).テつ I felt clean and soft after I used it.テつ I was even able to shave with in, unlike commercially produced bar soaps.テつ テつ You have to be careful not to leave it in your water,テつ it melts quickly.テつ You don’t want to leave it sitting in much water either, or it will start to dissolve.テつ This is only because of it being so natural.テつ テつ テつ

Sugar Scrub/Body Polish ~ I also tried the sugar scrub, and When I opened the container, all I saw was firmly packed, brownish colored sugar crystals. The lavender scent was not as noticeable as with the soap or the souffle.テつ I would think that this is because the sugar would dissolve if too much was added to it.テつ I scooped some out, and used a little on my arms (in the tub).テつ I was amazed that I could feel a light scrub and then it just disolved.テつ I wasn’t left with a bunch of crunchies all over my arms.テつ What I had was a nice smooth feeling arm.テつ This scrub is mild enough to be used daily, but you would need something a bit stronger for those rougher spots like your heels (the companyテつ has foot care products for this).

Souffle ~ The souffle is a very thick and creamy lotion that is perfect for those more needy spots, like your elbows, knees, and heels.テつ It is a bit too thick for an all over lotion (they do make a lotion more suited for all over).テつ I have to say, I liked the fact that this stuff was not greasy like some products made for these areas.テつ Yes, I felt the oils (Sunflower, Soya Bean, and Jojoba)テつ テつ in it, butテつ the souffle was not sticky or overly oily feeling.テつ My skin absorbed these nicely, leaving my hands, elbows, and heels feeling much softer.

When I visited the website, I was really amazed at home many different products that Lavender LoveTM offered.テつ The company has been around since 2002, and started out selling the line on eBay!テつ Their prices are really reasonable considering they useテつ suchテつ high qualityテつ ingredients and make it themselves.テつ What a success story!

My Space for moms?

Stress Management Tips for Moms

テつ Let’s Face it, every mom has had one of “those days”.テつ The baby is feed and dry but very fussy, your child forgot to tell you about a science project that is due tomorrow and hands you a list of 10 things that you must get from the store,テつ you forgot the roast in the oven and now it is dry and your husband just called to say that he is stuck at the office… again!テつ After a day like this, it can be very hard to keep your stress level low.テつ With each passing minute you may feel your stress and irritability rising, your patience getting shorter and your fuse about to blow!テつ Calgon Take Me Away!!

When you feel the need to escape and take a few minutes to yourself to de-stress, follow some (if not all) of the tips below.

Put yourself in time out: Allow some alone time for yourself.テつ Use this time to focus on you.テつ Find a place in your home that you can go to and find privacy.テつ You can ask your partner or a friend to take the family out for a few hours while you enjoy your alone time.テつ Do nothing, sleep, read, watch a movie, and just enjoy your solitude.

Call a Friend:テつ Rather than yelling at your husband or your children, try picking up the phone and vent to a friend.テつ Be sure not to vent AT her, but rather tell her about your day and get it all out.テつ If she offers you some advice, listen and soak it in.テつ This mini-time out session will leave you feeling heard, de-stressed and you will find that by the end of your call some of you anger will have dissipated.

Play: As adults, we sometimes forget the beneficial value of play.テつ Play stimulates our imagination, encourages our creativity, boosts our energy, and best of all, it is fun.テつ Try a game of tennis, a game of cards online or perhaps invite some friends over for an evening of adult board games.

Meditate: Meditation has been proven to reduce your blood pressure, and helps to dramatically reduce your stress level.テつ Meditation and/or prayer will help you to keep in touch with your spiritual side.テつ Meditation is a very effective method of relaxation.テつ To meditate, quiet your mind and allow yourself to focus on one thing, such as your breath.テつ Find a relaxed comfortable position where Try visualizing good health and peace as you inhale. While you are breathing out breathe out all of your stress. Set aside approximately 20 minutes for this exercise. Upon completion, you will see just how much more relaxed your mind and body is.

Take a nap: Find a quiet, comfortable spot and take a nap. Even a short power nap can leave you feeling refreshed, renewed, and more focused. Studies have shown that people who spent 30 minutes each day napping had one third less heart disease than those who didn’t nap.

Eat: Not just anything but certain things. Studies show that certain foods can help reduce stress.テつ Carbohydrates will actually soothe you.テつ Good sources of carbohydrates include rice, pasta, potatoes, breads, air-popped popcorn and low-calorie cookies. Experts suggest that the carbohydrates present in just one baked potato or a cup of spaghetti or white rice, is enough to relieve the anxiety of a stressful day.

Movie Time:テつ If you donテ「竄ャ邃「t have anyone to watch the children for you while you de-stress.テつ Put in one of their favorite movies, supply your children with a few healthy snacks, and have them occupy themselves for a little while so that you can take a breather.

Don’t feel guilty for taking time out to rejuvenate your mind and body.テつ Being a mom is not an easy task and it is a full time job.テつ Take a break when you need it and be sure to ask for help to keep the stress at bay.
